Hello.
My name is Sarah, but here I go by Ri because I’ve never really used my middle name much and I fancied the web a good place to exercise it. I have three brothers, one best friend named Passion, and one cat. Her name is Moxie and she sleeps on my bed most of my day.
I like fashion as much as I like books– a girl should be as trendy as she is smart.
I also love movies, and if I wasn’t studying business, well I’d want to make movies.
My heroes include, but are not limited to, Queen Victoria, Alexander the Great, Peter Jackson, and J.R.R. Tolkien.
When I’m in the mood, I write stories. About two years ago, I was in the mood all the time so I wrote a book. But that was two years ago, and my language has improved since then. I’ve learned fantastic new words, like algid and ilunga. So I put that book in the cellar to allow it to age properly, and while it does that, I’ve started a new book which has a plot that can be supported by the clumsy writing of an 18 year old.
I find the color blue extremely pleasing, but tend to purchase things that are the color red. For instance, all my tech gadgets are red.
My taste in reading is hugely varied. I can stomach almost anything, from children’s books, to books that are older than death– as long as it’s written well, I can read it. If you’re wondering, I only review about sixty percent of what I read.
The BBC is my bro. It produces the best Austen&Co adaptations and I live off period dramas. Like Downton Abbey. Umph. The BBC also does Top Gear and Doctor Who. So they’re simply the best.
And that’s about it. The basics, at least. If you want to know me through my writing, visit the Stories and Projects page where you can read my essays, politics, and creative things. If you want to contact me, leave a comment or shoot an email to sarah.ry623@hotmail.com
So, may the odds ever be in your favor.
RI

/ January 23, 2011Hello. I’ve become addicted to your blog! After stumbling upon it late last year (When I should have been *studying*) ahem, I’ve read all the book reviews, etc, I felt obliged to comment. I guess I’m also addicted to reading, so it figures. And I love snail-mail. And wasting time when I really should be doing other stuff. But that’s life I guess.

/ September 28, 2011I’m 14, a relatively newbie blogger, hard-core bookworm (fellow Rick Riordan fan, if I might add) and wannabe writer… I love your reviews… while I might have some semblance of writing talent, reviews are not my forte, which is why I have great respect for GOOD reviewers. And you are one. While some books listed here are not for my age, I enjoyed reading the reviews all the same.
Wish I knew more similar blogs; sadly, there’s an absurd lack of book-loving bloggers, at least as far as I know. Do you know any? I would appreciate it if you could give me some links…
Anyway, keep going. Write more! :)

/ September 28, 2011Thank you! Thank you so very much. A site I visit a lot for new books is called yareads.com. However, their reviews are always positive and they read more pop culture books than I do. But I’ve discovered some good ones through them, so it’s worth a try :)
